GMD Fabrics is the international wholesale brand of Manpreet Shawls — a garment manufacturing house established in Ludhiana, Punjab in the 1990s. We are a Govt. Recognized Export House, GST registered, and a member of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).
Our facility in Ludhiana houses 6 in-house production units — dyeing, weaving, knitting (round and flat), stitching, finishing, and printing & embroidery — operated by a workforce of 200+ skilled artisans working day and night.
We manufacture a wide range of garments: shawls and pashminas, Masai Shuka, hosiery goods, school uniforms, T-shirts, hoodies, towels, kids suits, and custom garments — all produced in-house, packed to export standards, and shipped to wholesale buyers across 50+ countries.

The GMD Fabrics Story
1990s
The Founding
S. Gurpreet Singh, a man with deep roots in Punjab's textile tradition and an unshakeable belief in quality, established Manpreet Shawls in Ludhiana. Starting with shawls and woollen wraps, he built a name that local buyers trusted — and a foundation that would one day reach the world.
2000s
Building the Foundation
Manpreet Singh, the founder's son, took the reins and transformed the business from a regional manufacturer into a structured export operation. He introduced quality systems, expanded the product range, and forged relationships with wholesale buyers across India and beyond.
2010s
Going Global
GMD Fabrics was born as the export brand of Manpreet Shawls — a name designed for the international market. With Damanpreet Singh leading expansion, the business entered Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The Masai Shuka became the company's most iconic product, dominating the African wholesale market.

A Govt. Recognized Export House
With 200+ workers operating day and night across 6 in-house production units, GMD Fabrics now exports to 50+ countries. From premium paisley shawls to school uniforms, hosiery, hoodies, and custom garments — every product carries the same commitment to quality that S. Gurpreet Singh instilled three decades ago.
